buythetime.lol is one page with one countdown on it. Anyone can pay to push that countdown up, and anyone can pay to push it down. Whichever side runs out of patience first, the ending is permanent.
Why it exists
Almost everything online is built to last forever, and almost nothing online asks you to care. We wanted the opposite: a site where attention is the whole product and the stakes are real, because the thing you are looking at can actually be destroyed.
So we put a single clock in the middle of it and let money move it in both directions. Adding a minute is cheap. Taking one away costs double, because ending something should cost more than saving it. Every payment shows up publicly, in the feed and on a leaderboard, within seconds.
There is no account to create, no subscription, and no second round. When the clock hits zero, the page freezes into a record of who did what, and that is the last version of this website anyone will ever see.
