How it works

Everything you need
before you spend a cent.

One website. One clock. Two teams paying to push it in opposite directions. Here is exactly what your money does, in the order you will run into it.

Bidding

A bid is a payment that moves the clock. Pick a side, pick how many minutes, and the total is shown before anything is charged.

  • Saviors add time at $1 a minute. Assassins remove time at $2 a minute. Removing costs more on purpose.
  • Minutes are whole numbers only. The smallest bid is one minute.
  • A single Savior payment can add at most 240 minutes. The clock itself never goes past 12 hours, so an oversized order is trimmed to whatever room is left.
  • An oversized Assassin order stops exactly at 00:00:00. You are never charged for minutes that do not exist.
  • End it now skips the remaining clock in one payment. The price is quoted live and rises with the time left.

Whatever the clock reads when your payment clears is what your minutes are applied to. If someone else moves it first, your order is re-checked against the new time before it goes through.

Rankings

There are two leaderboards and they never merge into one score.

  • Rank is your total spent on that side, not your most recent payment. Every bid adds to the running total.
  • The same person can appear on both boards. Adding time one day and removing it the next is allowed.
  • Ties go to whoever got there first.
  • The pinned message is separate. It belongs to the largest single payment that came with a message. Matching the current top payment is not enough, you have to beat it.
  • Whoever removes the final minute is recorded permanently on the closing page.

Payments

  • Nothing is charged until you press the pay button. The total, including any spotlight, is itemised on screen first.
  • One payment covers everything in that order: the minutes and the spotlight together.
  • The clock only moves once payment clears. A failed or cancelled payment leaves the clock, the totals, the leaderboards, and the live feed untouched.
  • If the price changes while you are deciding, the new price is shown and has to be accepted before the payment goes through.
  • Prices are in US dollars.

Checkout currently runs in demo mode: no card is charged, but confirmed moves are saved and are visible to everyone.

Spotlight placements

A spotlight puts your product in the banner and both side slots at the same time, for a fixed length of time.

  • Lengths run from a 15 second takeover up to one hour. The price of each length is shown before you choose.
  • Only one spotlight is on screen at a time. Everything else waits in line.
  • The queue is ordered by how much was paid, highest first. Equal amounts run in the order they were bought.
  • If the slot is free, your spotlight goes live the second payment clears. No extra setup, no approval step.
  • When one ends, the next in line starts automatically. With nobody waiting, the slot reopens to anyone.
  • The countdown on the placement is the real time remaining. Views, clicks, and the live click rate are counted while it runs.
  • Every placement is labelled Sponsored, and outbound links do not pass search ranking.

Changing a bid

  • A confirmed bid cannot be edited or withdrawn. The clock has already moved and everyone has already seen it.
  • To climb higher, bid again. Payments stack into your total on that side, so a second bid moves your rank.
  • To take the pinned message, make a single payment larger than the current top one and include a message.
  • A spotlight that is already running cannot be swapped, retimed, or edited. Buy another one to keep the slot.
  • A spotlight still waiting in line can be overtaken at any moment by someone who pays more.

Refunds

  • Bids on the clock are final. The effect is instant and public, so it cannot be handed back once it lands.
  • A spotlight that never appears is refunded in full. If the clock reaches zero while yours is still in line, it never ran and you are not charged for it.
  • If a spotlight is cut short by a fault on our side, the unused time is refunded pro rata.
  • Content removed for breaking the rules below is not refunded.
  • Failed payments are never captured, so there is nothing to refund.
  • For anything else, reach out on X and we will look at it.

What is not allowed

Submissions are screened automatically before payment, and anything that slips through can be pulled down afterwards.

  • Adult or sexual content.
  • Crypto wallet prompts, airdrop or giveaway claims, and seed phrase requests.
  • Guaranteed income, get-rich-quick offers, and free money claims.
  • Hacking services, malware, and stolen accounts or card data.
  • Phishing, fake account warnings, and anything imitating another brand or person.
  • Prescription drug sales.

There are format rules too, and they are enforced before you can pay:

  • Links must be public http or https addresses. Private, local, and raw IP addresses are rejected.
  • Images must be PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, or AVIF, no larger than 2000px on a side. SVG is not accepted.
  • Titles cannot be all capitals or padded with repeated characters.
  • Messages are capped at 60 characters and can be hidden by moderation without changing the clock.
